Elevated temperature response of RC beams strengthened with NSM FRP bars bonded with cementitious grout

This paper presents the results of 12 tests on small-scale reinforced concrete beams strengthened in flexure with a single NSM carbon FRP bar. The used bar is novel commercial high values glass transition Tg and decomposition Td temperature to improve performance strengthening system at elevated temperature. bonded using cementitious grout rather than an epoxy adhesive. Flexural were performed both ambient temperatures un-strengthened beams. Tests propane-fired radiant panels, fire testing furnace, two heating configurations (localised near midspan only global over entire length systems). also shows Dynamic Mechanic Analysis (DMA), Thermogravimetric (TGA) Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) conducted CFRP. thermal conductivity CFRP grout, define mechanical properties concrete, steel bars, are discussed herein. flexural demonstrated grout-bonded system’s ability maintain structural effectiveness up about 600 °C adequate anchorage. However, similar adhesive needed before can be confidently stated as being vastly superior epoxy-adhered systems.
